Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have questions about our products, shipping, or return policy? You can find all the answers quickly and easily in our FAQ!
Where does our product come from?
Our wool comes from Mongolia and is harvested annually by nomads using environmentally friendly methods. The sheep, yaks, goats, and camels naturally shed their old coats. Thanks to its uniquely strong fibers, our wool has a long lifespan—making it a sustainable choice for the climate!

The harsh climate of the Gobi, with freezing winters and hot summers, contributes to the superior quality of our wool. The herds graze freely on the vast steppes and have adapted to extreme weather conditions, resulting in fine, strong fibers.

Our product line consists of the following types of wool, each with its own unique qualities:

  • Sheep’s Wool The wool from Mongolian sheep is finer and more elastic than that of other sheep breeds. This provides excellent stretch, making it ideal for clothing production.

  • Yak Wool
Yak wool is hypoallergenic, making it perfect for people with sensitive skin. The fibers of the undercoat are fine, soft, and warm. Because of the way yaks graze and move, yak wool is also one of the most sustainable types of wool. Thanks to their soft hooves and short tongues, yaks cause virtually no damage to the landscape.

  • Camel Wool
Camels in the Gobi Desert have multiple layers of fur to adapt to extreme temperatures. The undercoat, which is collected annually by herders, yields soft, strong, and insulating fibers. Camel wool is also hypoallergenic.
Yak and camel wool are soft, comfortable, and gentle on the skin. For people with sensitive skin, they offer a wool option that doesn’t cause irritation or itching. Mongolian sheep’s wool also contains very little lanolin (sheep fat), which contributes to its hypoallergenic properties.
These socks offer comfort and functionality in any shoe. They are made of wool, a purely natural product, and are therefore somewhat more delicate than synthetic materials.
Yes, our wool is harvested in an environmentally friendly way by local shepherds. Woolen garments last a long time, need to be washed less often, and are easy to recycle. By wearing them, you help reduce your ecological footprint.
Wool has self-cleaning properties because it repels dirt and water. After wearing them, you can simply let the socks air out on the clothesline or by an open window.

Do you still want to wash the socks? If so, follow these tips:
  • Use the (wool) cycle at 30 degrees
  • Add a splash of wool detergent
  • Do not use bleach or fabric softener
  • Avoid the dryer
  • Do not wash by hand; due to the high wool content, this can damage the fibers!

Mongolian sheep, yak, and camel wool are sourced in an animal-friendly manner. The animals roam freely on the vast steppe and are cared for by nomadic herders who have treated their herds with respect for generations. Wool is collected by hand or using gentle traditional methods, often simply through natural shedding or gentle shearing. Because the animals live in a natural environment rather than in intensive livestock farming, wool production remains sustainable and stress-free. By choosing Mongolian wool, you’re choosing both quality and animal welfare.
